To become a Voting Member of Temecula Valley Democrats, you must be a registered Democratic Voter in the State of California. Our club can assist you with voter registration or resources to do your registration yourself if you need help. You may also register to vote online at the California Secretary of State website. You may check your current voter registration status on the CA SOS website as well. Membership in Temecula Valley Democrats is something worthy that a Citizen or Resident can do to help their community and nation.

However, there are other ways to get involved besides membership:

  • If you are under the age of 18, and pre-registered or declare that you wish to pre-register as a Democratic voter for the next election cycle, you may become an Associate Member. Associate Members can serve on committees within Temecula Valley Democrats, and may vote inside the committee they serve on, if their committee Chairperson allows it.
  • Persons not registered as Democratic voters in the State of California may serve on Temecula Valley Democrats committees as volunteers, but may not vote in club meetings or in committee. They may be permitted to speak in such capacity at the discretion of their committee Chairperson or at club general meetings if given the floor by the club officer presiding over the meeting.

Those are the formal rules as stipulated in our bylaws, but the spirit of the club is inclusive and respectful of the right to freedom of speech. In most cases, Associate Members and Volunteers would be valued for their input, suggestions, and ideas. Taking an Associate Member or Volunteer position with Temecula Valley Democrats would in many ways allow you to have some say in what the club does, and how things get done. The club needs everyone’s help to fulfill its mission, and we are grateful for everyone who serves.

I am so pleased to see this club form. After this last election I made up my mind I must get involved. In my teen and early voting years I worked with the Young Democrats on the east coast. I have been a registered Democrat all my voting life and I do want to get involved again. I have tried around the Riverside area and have got no where to join. I have more time now and am willing to help take the red out of purple in all of Riverside County to become blue again. For one Ken Calvert has to go as well as Jefferies!!! I tried to download the membership application and was unable to. I will try again later today.
